Home is Sometimes Where You’ve Moved To…

We have been trying to find the right words to express out excitement about being in our new home at 35 East Gay Street. Along with a fresh neighborhood, the move to downtown Columbus has brought with it new inspirations as well as plans and objectives for Ghinda. The most important (and we believe innovative) factor about the new space is  that it serves as our home office, bridal showroom, trunk-show boutique, and also our work room, thus making it an actual working studio. Much like Hubert de Givenchy at la Maison Givenchy in 1952, Ghinda will use its space to design, pattern, sew and fit garments as well as meet with potential clients and exhibit new pieces as they come to fruition.

Next in line to discuss is our beautiful, bustling neighborhood! Downtown Columbus has seen plenty of changes, from the arrival (and then departure) of Lazarus, to more construction than we can describe, to new lofts and offices popping up left and right…it is truly an inspiration. From our studio windows during the week, there is a farmer’s market down below, oftentimes with live music which we can listen to as we work on the third floor above.  And on the second Saturday of every month, there is The Moonlight Market, an outdoor bazaar-style event where 30+ vendors from Columbus and beyond sell and display their wares. We could not be prouder to be a part of such a strong community, always working to give more and grow abundantly.

As our time in the new studio goes on, we want to encourage all Ghinda supporters to stop by any time. And we don’t just mean you beautiful brides-to-be. We want past brides, students, teachers, designers, business-owners, photographers, friends, curious community members who have yet to become friends, and those of you who follow our Facebook or Instagram pages from afar to come in and share in our progress and our inspirations…We can’t wait to pass along our excitement!
